Īs for latency, only if you use Aptx Low latency and the XM3 only has aptX and aptx HD.

best solution I see for it is something like this. But we are so far into the Switch life, if they were going to add BT headset functionality they would have done it by now.

Which is crucial for any game to be enjoyable.Ī future Switch Pro might add BT headset support. Because aptX has a low latency in comparison to LDAC and AAC for example. I use Linux as well, but I never listened music on it :D I am curious about Switch adding BT headphones support.which codecs will be available.

>ah, I'm running Android and Windows combo. What would you like to improve on from your set-up - Need to be able to connect 2 headphones, APTXLL would be a nice addition as well.įD: I posted in r/HeadphoneAdvice but didn't get any response. I'm ok with the sound quality and fit, could do with a little less audio/video lag.

Past headphones - currently using a QC35 with a bluetooth adapter, but can only connect one headset at a time.

Preferred Type of Headphone - Fullsize / over the hear, NOT in hear Will you be using these Headphones in Public? No

Requirements for Isolation - TV headphone, no need for great isolation I'm also ok finding compatible headsets with current transmitter if that's a thing. I'm ok buying the transmitter and headsets apart as long as it fits in the budget. Also my headsets are not APTx-LL (not a strong requirement): I'm using a QC35 and some noname brand ANR as well. I have a cheap dual bluetooth transmitter ( ) but never managed to actually pair 2 headsets at the same time. I'm looking for a simple plug and play, works for sure, 2xheadsets + transmitter combo to plug onto the TV.

I'm just glad that I can walk away from my PS4 without forgetting I'm attached to it. I'm still on the hunt to find the perfect setup. I could never get my USB Kitty headset to keep the colors when plugged into the PS4. Also, you can keep your cool color setup with the Razer Color App (Razer Chroma RGB). You can still use your audio functions via the app on your phone (Razer Audio). With the USB Kitty Headset the audio volume was fixed. The upside is that you can control the audio volume on the headset. When pressing buttons and when the controller vibrates your buddies can hear it. You don't have to have the controller right on your face, but you can't have it too far away from you either. This means you can communicate! Which is what I wanted while using this BT Headset on the PS4. The USB adapter is not perfect but here's the link.Ĭreative BT-W3 Bluetooth 5.0 USB-C Audio Transmitter with aptX LL/aptX HD and 3.5mm Mic for PS5/PS4/PC/MacĪfter posting I realized the mic on the headset doesn't work but the mic attachment to the PS4 controller works. I fell off the internet after posting about this Kitty BT Razer Headset issue. So yeah, there's options, but it will be a compromise no matter what as of right now. You could do something like you mentioned, with an AptX HD USB transmitter, like this one, but then you would have to have a wireless headphone or adapter, like a BTR5 that supports AptX HD and AptX LL, and you would of course, still have a wire between the BTR5 and your headphones, or the BTR5 as the DAC feeding your amp, and then to your headphones. Wireless headphones have their own DACs and Amps built in, and so have no need of discrete options. Most gamers don't have a high budget for headphones and most audiophiles are willing to forego wireless for better sound, so you have a hole in what is already a pretty niche market to begin with. I was unaware the Penrose had widespread issues, but I think it's still one of your best bets. It's not tuned too badly out of the box either. The Penrose also comes with an app for EQ and to tweak the balance between the BT and Dongle wireless because you can have both active and connected at the same time. With any setup, you may notice the latency, you may not.ĪptX LL has pretty dang low latency, which is what the LL stands for, but there's less available bandwidth than AptX HD or LDAC.Ī proprietary wireless Dongle, like what comes with the Penrose is the best option because it has enough bandwidth for minimal latency and uncompressed wireless bidirectional audio. BT implementation on Windows is also pretty poor in general. There are new codecs in development to reduce these issues, but they're not in the wild yet. Bluetooth right now, inherently has latency and/or quality penalties, dependant on codec and implementation by both the source device and the receiving device.
